A Post-Holocaust Love
Story

|
Shortly after German reunification, Lily Weitrek of San Diego, with the help of a German attorney Wolfgang Schmidt, sifts through the ruin of past eras to find proof of her ownership of a legendary shoe factory in East Germany seized by the Nazis and nationalized after the war by the communists. Overcoming their initial mutual distrust, the two unite to overcoming obstacles placed in their paths by the German Treuhandanstalt. Together they uncover not only a history of deceit and betrayal, but also a story of abiding love, leading them to celebrate the ghosts of the past that linger in the shadows of the Berlin Wall. |
